Molly Garcia-Kaer
MA, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate
She/Her
Molly became a counselor because she has always had a deep desire and passion to help others in a meaningful way. As a person, Molly is kind and compassionate, which is what led her down the path of becoming a counselor. Molly’s friends and family have told her throughout her life that she is “good at listening” or they can “tell her anything”. In addition to who Molly is as a person, she also became a counselor for her interest in psychology. Molly took an AP psychology class in high school, which is when she first started to gain interest in the human brain, mental health, and human behavior. Since that class in high school Molly has worked most of her life to continue her knowledge and skill set in mental health. Molly truly cares about others, and it shines through in the work she does as a counselor.
Before becoming a counselor, Molly worked in several different helping professions. Molly worked as a teacher's assistant for children with special needs disabilities where she helped support children in behavioral and emotional challenges. Molly worked as a life coach for adults with special needs and disabilities where she helped them reach social and occupational goals in their life. She has also worked for a year as a field guide for a wilderness therapy program where she supported therapists to assist at-risk youth struggling with emotional and behavioral challenges.
Molly has lived in Bend since 2018. She originally moved to Bend to work as a field guide for a wilderness therapy program but stayed to pursue her graduate degree. Now, Molly has made Bend her home because of the community here in central Oregon that she loves and all the outdoor activities she likes to do. Molly is grateful to be able to work as a counselor and to be present alongside her clients to support them on their path towards healing.
