Bethany Tatum

MA LMFT Associate
She/Her

Bethany became a couples and family therapist after working for a long time around families and individuals who were struggling. She particularly loved working with the kids at a preschool program who were having significant behavioral issues. Through these experiences, she learned to see the strengths in people and wanted to understand how to best support kids and their parents in using their strengths to thrive as opposed to just surviving. Since deciding to start graduate school to study systemic forms of therapy, she has continued this path and identifies that it is a great honor to witness and help facilitate people to find their voice, connect more effectively with loved ones, and to embrace a more balanced, confident version of themselves.

Before becoming a couples and family therapist, Bethany worked as a barista and pre-school teacher in Seattle WA. She has also enjoyed being a soccer player, a long-distance runner and a thespian while growing up in the Portland area.

Bethany has lived in Bend since 2021 when she moved with her partner after he got a job at a local company. Moving to Bend had been a dream of hers since she was a kid!

Bethany enjoys spending time climbing, skiing, hiking, walking her dogs, cooking, hanging out with her partner and friends and watching great movies and tv shows!

Bethany feels incredibly lucky to be working in a field where she gets to support people who often don’t feel heard. Every person who sits in a therapy room with Bethany is important, cared for, and seen. She feels incredibly grateful for the trust that her clients choose to give her and works hard to hold a safe and supportive space for them.
